What Do I Need To Do?

There is no effort involved in floating. Everything happens automatically as part of a natural organic process. Simply enter our carefully curated environment. Relax and let the water support you.

The unique buoyancy provided by a just 30cm of healing Epsom salt solution, and the temperature of the solution and air matching your body’s temperature, creates a powerful impression of levitation where you no longer feel the force of gravity. By reducing all sensory experiences: sight, smell, touch and sound, your body drifts in a state of complete sensory isolation, free from external stimuli, where images, sounds, and touch naturally fade away.

What Happens?

Free from sensory input, the muscular-skeletal system and sympathetic nervous system wind down into a state of deeply relaxing state of serenity.

Your brain easily drifts away into the half-asleep/half-awake type Theta state which is associated with heightened creativity, problem-solving, and visualization.

Research has shown that Theta brain waves are present during periods of deep meditation. Unlike typical experiences of Theta brain waves, which are fairly short-lived as we transition between being awake and asleep, floating offers much more extended periods in the Theta state.

What Happens Afterwards?

We recommend you sit and relax on our sofa for at least ten minutes after your post float shower. We offer water or a herbal tea.

Hygiene

We pride ourselves on ensuring the highest degree of hygiene is maintained. Customers are required to shower before (and after) their float. 

The sterile 25% salt water solution ensures that nothing harmful can survive within the float room. Pathogenic microorganisms cannot survive in concentrations higher than 10% salt. The water is filtered through a 1-micron filter (that’s 1/100th the diameter of a human hair!) at least 4 times between each use. By comparison, standard pool and spa filters filter to just 20-30 microns.
